|Aga Khan Rural Support Programme(India) Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government organization. AKRSP (I) was established in Gujarat in 1984 and it seeks to contribute to rural poverty reduction through community involvement and empowerment that leads to the efficient management and improved productivity of natural resources. Position: Manager (Agriculture Research) Location: Ahmedabad with substantial travel Education: Post Graduate in any discipline preferably in Management, Agriculture Sciences, Economics or Social Sciences. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in functions related to research, monitoring and evaluation function particularly in agriculture sector. Candidates who have conducted or published research articles around sustainable agriculture or climate change will be preferred. Language Proficiency: High level of English language proficiency is must to execute this function. Skills and competencies required to meet the job requirement: • Strong competencies around research methodologies, data collection, data analysis and reporting functions particularly in agriculture and livestock programmes. • Understanding of research in “climate change and agriculture” is strongly desirable. • Ability to draft policy briefs for climate change mitigations in agriculture and livestock sectors • High quality report writing is mandatory skill required for this function • Good communication skills • Willingness to travel in remote areas Work Profile: • Leading the monitoring, evaluations, learning and research functions of an ambitious climate change mitigation project in Agriculture and Livestock sectors • Generating evidences around sustainable agriculture practices through intensive research efforts on pilot interventions at multiple locations • Coordinating with external agencies for research and policy related works • Capacity building of project team teams of the project on MERL functions • Coordinating the timely and high quality project report submissions to all external agencies. • Designing and implementing innovative and highly effective activities leading to continuous learning of organization particularly in the field of reporting, impact assessment and programme improvement for sustainable agriculture programs.
